Here you will find my review and pictures from my vacation to Iberostar Daiquiri Hotel in Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Coco, Cuba.

During the time I was there, most of the tourists were from England and Germany.  Off my plane there were only 5 people going to this resort.  This is not to say that Canadian tourists were under-represented cause there was quite a few, but far fewer than Germans and British.

The beach has nice sand although it contains a fair bit of smaller pieces of seaweed washed up and mixed in it.  In some places especially during high tide, the beach is very narrow and at times is not passable unless you walk in the grass or hotel property.  During lower tides, the beach widens quite a bit and becomes quite nice.  In general the water is not deep, however some not so dense seaweed is present not far from shore. Personally I prefer clear sand without the seaweed.  About 300 to 400 meters from shore is another sandbar which gets very shallow, not even knee deep in some places, but once again I guess that depends on the tide.   It's a nice ride out in a kayak or a paddle boat.

The rooms are quite large, and spacious, with two beds, and a tiled floor.  A bottle of water awaited me when I arrived but was not replaced after I finished it.  Not sure if my generous tipping wasn't sufficient or if that is simply the hotel standard.  I had no problems with the air conditioning or electricity.  I disliked the fact that the safes are 2CUC per day.  If the package is all inclusive, and the safe is in the room why not give you that little extra piece of mind as a bonus?

I was on the ground floor and had no problems with the water pressure.  Maybe upstairs it's a little less predictable, but I didn't hear anyone complaining about it.  The only observation was that if you turned the water to cold only the pressure did drop a little, and taking a shower would require a little more time.  The bathroom was clean and quite good but without any doubt could use a little upgrading.  Except for the few chips in the bathtub, I shouldn't be complaining too much.  I suppose the ventilation could also use some improvements but it was far from being bad.
