| Welcome to the Jack's Homepage of Lake Louise and Sunshine Village, situated in the Canadian Rockies. I bet you are
asking yourself as to why in the world I would create this. Well to be
honest with you I myself don't really know, but I do know that Sunshine and Lake
Louise truly are a skiers paradise. I've been there myself on a few
occasions and can't wait to go again, January 2003 (I hope).
Here you will find a few pictures taken by me on my vacation to Lake Louise and Sunshine between March 14 and 21, 1997. If you find these pictures of somewhat poor quality, blame it on the Kodak Sure shot (disposable) camera, the not so excellent scanner I used, and well maybe in some (if any) part me for only being so good at operating these devices. Without further adieu, here's the scoop on the east end of the Rockies. Sunshine is located about 1 1/4hr. drive from Calgary, Alberta in the Banff National Park. It truly is a spectacular place to ski. It is also ranked as one of the top ski resorts in the Rockies for annual snow fall. Over one night that I was there they got over 25cm of fresh powder!! That truly made my week. One other interesting fact about sunshine is, if you're like me who's (unfortunately) never been to B.C. (officially at least), you can do that there. One of the runs crosses the Alberta/B.C. border and therefore you technically can claim to have been to B.C. Lake Louise on the other hand, is about 1 3/4 hr. drive west of Calgary. Truly a magnificent ski resort with enough runs to keep you busy for weeks at a time. One run I really recommend is the Rock Garden. This may be a bit of a challenge for the folks who can barley handle the green runs, but a very nice and scenic run for the ones who can handle a bit more than the blue. See you there in 2003, and PS if Lake Louise or Sun Shine staff should happen to come across this page, feel free to send a lift ticket or two (or more) to be used in the 2003/2003 season, as I'll be there (again).
